Innocent Indu - Story by Muraly TV

Innocent Indu

Indu, the little girl lived with her parents and grandma in a small house. She was very innocent.  She never quarreled with her friends.  Her best friend was her Grandma.  Grandma enjoyed the company of Indu for her innocent questions.

Daily, Indu would help her grandma walk in the courtyard nearby jasmines and roses.  Indu loved hearing stories from Grandma.

One day, as usual, after dinner Indu and Grandma reached at the courtyard and sat on the wooden bench nearby the jasmines and roses.  The sky shined with shimmering stars.  Moonlight drew beautiful shadows in the courtyard.  Indu was in no mood to hear any stories on that day.  So, Grandma started narrating about her childhood days.

“I can’t believe it” Indu screamed when Grandma said she had never been to any school or walked miles and miles to see a doctor.  Grandma knew very well that Indu’s doubts would find no bounds. So, at once, Grandma asked Indu – “What will you do when you become a grandma like me after so many years?”

Indu thought for a while by scratching her nose with her little finger.  “When I become a grandma like you... hmmm....”, little Indu posed for a while and screamed suddenly, “I will lie beside you and relax whole the day without doing any work, just like you.  No studies... No work... Just relax, just like you!”

“Wow! What a fantastic idea!” Grandma could not resist laughing.  “OH! Then, I have to look after two Grandmas” exclaimed Indu’s mother laughingly.  Indu’s father pinched Indu’s cheek lovingly and laughed uncontrollably.

Though, little Indu could not understand why everyone laughed louder for long, she smiled innocently and imagined how she would look like a grandma lying beside her own dearest Grandma after so many years.  “Then, who will help two Grandmas walk in the garden after dinner?” Indu murmured innocently.  Even the moon couldn’t control his smile.

Indu slept silently in the lap of her dearest Grandma.  Her face shined in the moonlight.  Looking at Indu’s face, grandma said – “Innocent Indu!”

The courtyard remained tranquil and cool. The jasmines and roses smiled innocently.  Glowworms fluttered around the flowers.

An innocent smile bloomed in the face of little Indu; may be, the dreams began blossoming in the garden of her innocent heart!!
