Strike in the Sky
One day, some clouds in the sky decided to protest against the sun. Annoyed and agitated clouds approached Uncle Cloud and conveyed their plans.
Uncle Cloud, with disappointment, said – “Please do not curse the sun that gives light, heat and energy to entire world. Without the sun, life in earth will come to a halt”
Agitated clouds shouted – “We are fed up of this sun and do not care about the earth. The agenda of this strike is to force the sun to reduce his light, heat and working hours. Let him work for a few hours and disappear. We love to enjoy flying coolly and calmly under the moon in the nights”
Clouds were not ready to listen to Uncle Cloud. Unanimously they declared – “We are powerful to teach a lesson to the sun”.
Laughingly, Uncle Cloud said – “Everyone has their own role to play in this universe. Let sun do his job and you do your job. Clouds form when water on earth evaporates and raises high in the sky. The water vapour cools and forms tiny droplets that results in the formation of clouds. And, one day, clouds will return to earth in the form of rain drops. Unnecessary strikes will cause inconvenience to others with no good results”. But, nobody paid any heed to Uncle Cloud’s words.
Thus, on the next dawn, the clouds began their strike against the sun. They flew angrily with banners and slogans against the sun. The dark clouds were terribly aggressive. They threatened many innocent silver clouds for not supporting the strike. “We are more powerful than you” The agitators looked at the sun and shouted – “We can make the day as night by preventing your light falling to the earth”. The angry clouds formed a thick layer and tried to prevent the sunlight.
Finally, the sun decided to teach a lesson to the egoistic clouds. He winked his eyes looking at his friend Uncle Wind relaxing in the woods in the earth. Uncle Wind understood the plan.
Suddenly, Uncle Wind rose to the sky whirling strongly and chased the agitators ferociously. The scared clouds flew helter-skelter. Due to the strong wind, the clouds banged themselves. Lightning and thunder took place. Uncle Wind continued his lathi-charge to cool down the clouds.
The clouds, thus, became cool and finally fell down the earth as rain drops. The aggrieved protesters, finally, floated in the canals, ponds, lakes, rivers, backwaters and the sea. Watching the fun from another corner in the sky, Uncle Cloud told to silver clouds and others – “Ego and ignorance will destroy you. The protesting clouds were not ready to listen to my advice. The strike what they did was just to show off their ego without realizing the facts.”
Uncle Wind had calmed down by then. Gently, with a tender smile, Uncle Wind patted all the peace-seeking clouds and said – “Don’t worry. Your friends will live in the sea. One day, I will vaporize them and bring back to you. All of you must respect and follow the Law of Nature”
Uncle Wind gently flew down to the earth. Silver clouds played happily along with Uncle Cloud. Skylarks sang melodiously. The sun smiled and shined brightly!!!
