How to make Spaghetti Bolognese
This recipe will show you how to create an easy and delicious Spaghetti Bolognese.
Ingredients
1 Onion
1 Clove Garlic
1 Carrot
15ml Oil
250g lean minced beef
400g of Chopped Tomatoes
15ml Tomato Purée
5ml spoon of Mixed Herbs
150g Spaghetti
Large Pan
Small Pan
Colander
You may also want a container to keep any leftovers.
Method
1. Prepare the vegetables
Peel and chop the onion, carrot and celery and crush the garlic.
2. Fry the onion, garlic, celery and carrot in the oil in the large pan.
3. Add the mince and cook until it is lightly browned.
4. Add the tomatoes, tomato purée, mixed herbs and 50ml of water. Mix well together.
5. Bring to the boil, then turn the heat down and simmer for 20 minutes.
6. Meanwhile, half fill the small pan with water and bring to the boil, add the spaghetti and cook for 10-12 minutes until the spaghetti is soft, but firm enough to eat.
7. Drain the water from the spaghetti over the sink using a colander.
8. Tip the spaghetti into a big enough bowl, then pour bolognese sauce over the spaghetti.
