On account of Children’s Day 2019, children of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Rajasthan were parted with love and affection by a retired IAF person from Bengaluru, MURALY TV on completion of his 16th Solo-Adventure Cycling Mission in association with a National Award Winning Social Activist Ms. Chameli Karmakar.  

Mission 2019 – “Love Life; Love Humanity; Life is Precious” by Muraly ended on 14th November in Bengaluru.  Muraly did solo rides from 10 – 14th Nov on the roads Karnataka, AP and TN.  He honoured Best Achiever students in Gorantla in AP, Krishnagiri in TN and at three schools in Bengaluru.  His message to all was “Love must be unconditional.  Love and Educate children whether boy or girl, guide children with Values.  Let children grow with physical, mental and emotional strength with more tolerance power to face the hardest situations in life was one of the main messages that Muraly conveyed to the parents. 

Unlike previous Missions, for the first time, Muraly could ensure his presence even in his absence in a few North Indian States during Mission 2019.  Muraly co-ordinated with Ms. Chameli Karmakar of Gurgaon, Haryana and extend his Mission to more States.  Ms. Chameli Karmakar is General Secretary Anti Corruption Group and President Pvt Schools Association and Children Welfare Association of Gurgaon in Haryana and a notable Social Activist working towards women and children empowerment.  Chameli is honoured with Legend Award of India from the Young India Organization and Lakshya Foundation, Adi Sakthi Award, Rashtriya Naari Sakthi Gaurav Award, Beti Bachavo Beti Padavo Award from Brand Ambassador Gurgaon Haryana, Best Teacher Award and Best Team Award for Organizing Swach Bharat Abhiyan.

Muraly collected lots of study materials (books, pens, pencils, eraser, scale etc) from his well-wishers and despatched to Ms. Chameli Karmakar who organized programs in Barrackpore (West Bengal), Bhiwadi (Rajasthan) and Jaisalmer (Rajasthan).  Children from slum areas in and around Kolkata and underprivileged and disabled children of Bhiwadi and Jaisalmer were greed with lots of study materials on Children’s Day. 

Highlight of Mission 2019 was “1rs COIN Magic”.  Muraly collected 1rs coin from children from all the educational institutions where he visited and the money was sent to Ms. Chameli Karmakar with the title “Love from South India to North India” for use for underprivileged children. 

Since 2003, Muraly has been undertaking solo-cycling Missions on the roads of Karnataka, AP, TN and Kerala for various Social Causes.  Once in a year, he sets out on a Mission to disseminate significant messages for the society as well as “help the helpless” by raising funds through his friends and well-wishers.  Muraly did Missions for orphans, old age people, deserted women, martyred soldiers and their families, special children, financially backward schools, world peace, health awareness, environmental protection, organ donation and many more.  He does 500-600kms solo cycling in 4 days on his 19 years old gearless bicycle and sometimes 500-600kms per day on his 100cc bike of 2006 model.  The maximum distance covered by Muraly on his bicycle is 1300 kms in 9 days in 2015 with the title ‘Health is Wealth’.  After 500kms of solo-cycling, Muraly did his first solo-biking in 2017 from Bengaluru to the International Border Village TANOT and Longewala in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan by disseminating the importance of environmental protection and organ donation.  Muraly has distributed nearly 1000 plants during his Missions in Karnataka, TN, AP, Kerala and Rajasthan.  The accrued financial contribution that Muraly raised through his well-wishers ranged anything between Rs. 50,000 – 90,000/- for helping the needy on completion of his Missions.  

He served with Indian Air Force from 1986 to 2006 and later worked as an Administration Manager with a MNC in Bengaluru.  He has been honoured for his professional and personal achievements.  He has earned Commendations from the Chief of IAF, Vice Chief of IAF and from the Air Officer Commanding.  Even after retirement, Muraly got awarded from the Army, Navy and IAF apart from civil organizations and educational institutions for his ‘Service to Society’.  He is now a full time writer for children.  In 2019 alone, Muraly’s 40 English Stories are published in popular children’s periodicals.

Muraly, at the age of 51 years, is still continuing his Missions with more vigor and enthusiasm for ‘helping the helpless”.  Muraly does his solo-missions without any sponsorship from any organizations but with the support from his family and friends.
