Miracle of Dreams - Story by Muraly TV

Miracle of Dreams

It was a pleasant Sunday evening.  Indu and Chandni were relaxing with their friends at the river bank.  They were discussing about their dreams.  Manasi and Mridula dreamt of living in a paradise. Chandan wanted to be an adventurer.

“I love sun.  My dream is to bring the sun to earth” said Indu innocently.

“I always dreamt of living in the moon.  I love moon!!” said Chandni cheerfully.  Everyone laughed and whistled.   “What a foolish dream!” Chandan laughed funnily shaking his large belly.  Manasi and Mridula too laughed at Indu and Chandni for their funny dreams.  “If there is a will, there is a way” Indu retorted.  “I will, by somehow, fulfill my dreams” Chandni replied sternly.

“What’s the matter?” suddenly came Alli with Chameli.  Alli and Chameli, two psychologists from the nearby town had recently come to the village on a project for a few months.  “Can I help you, little dreamers” Chameli asked children smilingly.  Alli gave chocolates to the children and encouraged them to speak out.

“Sun and moon cannot be brought to earth.  Still, Indu and Chandni can enjoy a sunny and moony world” Alli said.  “Manasi and Mridula can live in a paradise. Chandan can become an adventurer”.   Chameli assured.

“But, how?” asked Chandan surprisingly.  Chameli replied smilingly – “Dreams have no boundaries.  Focus on your dreams with strong desires to fulfill them.  Search and re-search various modes and methods to fulfill your dreams”

Indu, Chandni, Manasi, Mridula and Chandan started discussing about their dreams seriously with Alli and Chameli.   “Find out a place that can be made a paradise” Alli said - “Take help from your friend Tapan who owns a fishing boat.  Cross the river and reach at the bushy island, clear the bushes and make the island a paradise”.

“Wow!” exclaimed the children in chorus.  Manasi and Mridula discussed for a while and said – “We will make the island a paradise with full of plants, trees, butterflies, birds and music”.

Indu declared – “I can’t bring the sun from the sky.  But, I will fill the island with full of sunflowers that will represent the sun for me”.

Chandni screamed in joy – “I am going to plant full of white moonflowers that will represent the moon for me”.  Thus, Indu, Chandni, Manasi, Mridula and Chandan set out on their ‘dream mission’.

Tapan helped children cross the river and reach the island.  Alli and Chameli brought a few volunteers to help the children.  They cleaned the bushy island.  Manasi and Mridula brought many kinds of seeds and plants.  Indu and Chandni sowed sunflower and moonflower seeds. Everyone worked hard with a dream in their heart.

Days passed by.  The bushy island became a paradise full of fragrance, colour and music.  Golden trumpets, jasmines, roses, hibiscus, daisies and dahlias smiled enchantingly.  Sun smiled in the sky looking at Indu’s sunflowers.  Chandni’s moonflowers stood shining in the moonlight. Birds and butterflies started visiting the island.  Fireflies illuminated the island in the nights.

“Sun has come to our earth.  My dream is fulfilled” shouted Indu.  “I brought moon to our earth” danced Chandni in mirth and joy.  “We are in a paradise” Manasi and Mridula clapped. “I am really happy about this adventurous mission” Chandan’s face shined.  Villagers clapped.

A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work” Chameli appreciated the children.  “Yes, the miracle of dreams of course is amazing.  So, keep dreaming and keep trying to fulfill your dreams” Alli said to the children.  Indu, Chandni, Manasi, Mridula and Chandan played delightedly with their friends.  The island shined as a paradise full of beauty, elegance and music!!!
