Emotional Slave - Story by Muraly TV

Emotional Slave

Pihu, the cute little pretty girl lived on a hillock with her parents.  Pihu was dear to all for her dashing look and innocent behaviour.  Pinto was Pihu’s neighbour.  Pinto always remained angry, annoyed, worried or silent.

Pihu had many friends.  But, children used to avoid Pinto due to his mood swings.  Gradually, Pinto started disliking Pihu.  But, Pihu always remained cool and friendly with all including Pinto.

It was a Sunday evening.  After rain, the Nature stood afresh and shining.  Children were merrily playing in the meadow.  While running, by mistake, little Pinto slipped and fell down.  Suddenly, Tapan and Tapasi laughed uncontrollably.  “Poor Pinto is full of mud” screamed Ujjal.  “Don’t tease him, please” Pihu said to all while trying to help little Pinto.  But, Pinto shouted at Pihu and left the spot.  He sat alone under a palm tree.

“Come on, let us play” Tapan said.  “Yes, Pinto is always like this only” Tapasi laughed.  “He will spoil everyone’s mood.  Better, let him sit there only” opined Ujjal.  Pihu, once again, tried to calm down Pinto – “Don’t worry, Pinto.  Falling is quite normal while playing.  We are friends.  There is nothing bad to feel about friends’ friendly remarks”.

“Better, you run away before I push you down” Pinto angrily shouted at Pihu.  Pihu coolly returned to play.  Children continued playing happily.  Tapan slipped and fell in the muddy water.  Tapasi’s white skirt became brown after she fell down a few times.  ‘Thud...’ Ujjal tried to climb the golden shower tree but fell down.  Everyone looked very funny drenched in muddy water.

Pinto’s anger increased on seeing everyone enjoying in full swing.  He started throwing stones at birds and butterflies.  “What happened, Pinto?” suddenly Bidan Sir came.  Bidan Sir was their class teacher.

“All of you look very funny, jokers!”  Bidan Sir laughed loudly.  “I am not a joker” suddenly Pinto replied.  “Oh, Pinto is angry, as always!” Bidan Sir said coolly and approached Pinto.

On seeing Bidan Sir, parents also came to the spot.  Everyone laughed high on seeing the children drenched in mud and water.  Except Pinto, all enjoyed the fun.

Bidan Sir asked everyone to come closer to him and said - “Silence is the best answer for all stupid questions and smiling is the best reaction in all critical situations”. Everyone looked at his face surprisingly.  Bidan Sir said– “It is quite natural that we all will look dirty if we fall in mud but the dirt will go off soon after a bath.  So, what is there to worry about even if someone makes ridiculous comments?”

Pinto gets upset on the silliest things.  Hence, everyone tries to cut joke out of him.  Finally, he himself suffers.  Pihu never lets others spoil her happiness and mood.  Beauty of a person lies not only in the physical appearance but also in behaviour and attitude.  Pinto is a smart good looking boy but his mood swings make him the other way”

“So, what should I do, Sir?” suddenly asked little Pinto.  Bidan Sir patted Pinto and said – “Don’t be a slave to your emotions.  Have control on your emotions and thoughts.  Let others not control your feelings and moods.  Be realistic, practical and optimistic but never ever an emotional slave.  Remember my words – Silence is the best answer and smiling is the best reaction at certain circumstances in life”.

“Sorry Sir” Pinto apologized.  “Give a huge applause for Pinto” Pihu clapped with her sizzling smile.  Everyone clapped for Pinto.  Pinto could not control his happiness.  Pihu’s father brought tender coconut for Bidan Sir.  Pinto’s father gave toffees to all children.

“Sir, if the coconut in your hand falls down and gets dirty, will you eat.  Or, will you shout at us?” Pihu asked smilingly with a funny face.  Suddenly, Pinto shouted – “Sir, please remember – Silence is the best answer and smiling is the best reaction”.

Nobody could control their laugh.  Everyone clapped and enjoyed the evening with tender coconuts and toffees!!!
